Hawa Mahal
The pride of the Pink City, Hawa Mahal (the Palace of Winds) is an unordinary monument. This is a five storied palace which is 15 meter high with 953 windows called ‘Jharokhas’. The construction of Hawa Mahal was done in order to enable the ladies of royal household to watch the daily chores and other programs taking place in the city through these windows which enable proper passage of wind and thus remains cool. Built with red and pink sandstone it was designed by Lal Chand Ustad who was a popular architect of the 18th century during the rule of Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh.

City Palace
The City Palace was the place where the royal family shifted from Amber after the shortage of water in Amer region. This has been the residence of the family since then and is one of the most attractive historical monuments. The City Palace is a marvelous building made from pink and red sandstone. The City Palace has several remarkable features and constructions incorporated in its complex. There is a museum on the ground floor which has several original manuscripts and royal costumes on display and decorated with alluring paintings and frescoes. The palace also has Chandra Mahal which is a seven-storied building with different name given to each floor. The City Palace is an amazing blend of Mughal, European and Rajput architecture with mirror and stone inlay works for decorations.

Nahargarh Fort
The Nahargarh Fort is another attraction outlining the periphery and is located over the Aravali Hills. The citadel wall meets the walls of Jaigarh Fort and together they form the protection cover of Amer. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II who was also the founder of Pink City. The palace name meaning ‘abode of Tigers’; was also a hunting residence of the Maharajas. However another tale has that it has been named after Nahar Singh Bhomia whose spirit was believed to abstain the construction of the citadel. Later a temple on his name was built and it was then that palaces were constructed without disturbance in the palace. Visit this amazing castles to have panoramic views of the city.

Jaigarh Fort
The mesmerizing sister monument of the Amber Fort, Jaigarh was built by King Sawai Jai Singh II and hence is named after him. He led to the construction in 1726; it overlooks the Amer Fort and Maota Lake and was built to keep eye on any unwanted activities and intruders in the Amber Fort Complex. The Jaigarh Fort is now a major attraction and has several places of interest like the Charbagh Garden, Lalit Mandir, Laxmi Vilas museum which has collection of armory and belongings of the royal protectors of the citadel and also the famous Jaivana Cannon is present in the complex. The Jaivana cannon was the largest known cannon in the world during the 18th century.

Amer Fort
The most widely known castle in Jaipur is Amer Fort which is also one of the Hill Fort World Heritage Site as declared by UNESCO. Made from pink and yellow colored sandstone, the Amer Fort dominates the periphery of Jaipur from North. The royal palace dazzles in bright sunlight and attracts many travelers. Amer Fort construction was commenced by Raja Man Singh I but it was completed by Sawai Jai Singh during the 18th century. Other than being a perfect combination of Rajput and Gujarati architectural designs, it is the home to several amazing gardens, courtyards, palaces and temples. Some remarkable features of the Amer Fort are Sukh Niwas palace, Sheesh Mahal, Ganesh Pol, Man Mandir, Jai Mandir, Jaleb Chowk and the Shila Devi Temple.
